was Sunday, September 28th at Robbie’s Under-the-Wire Fly-In in Louise, Texas. Pictures on the Photo Album page.
The August 2003
meeting was a fly-in BBQ at David Allen’s place near Boling. A great meeting.

The July 2003 meeting was at Glenn Frels’ in El Campo - 2TE4 . After meeting to adopt tables and start WhartonKosh organization, we were supposed to help Carl Eldridge build an RV-7 rudder. Carl’s anniversary took precedence over the rudder, but we watched a B-17 flight video, Max flew his F-86, some flew the airbike, and everyone enjoyed hot dogs and bratwurst.

bite, but we tried.
SWRFI 2003 was a success! Over 500 airplanes (the exact count isn’t in).
Sixteen EAA896’ers attended. Dale stole found a tent, so we had shelter
– it got HOT. I can guarantee that there were more RV’s there than 172’s. Bob
and Lee Z sat at the end of the runway on Saturday morning and watched folks
landing. We estimated an airplane landing every 30 seconds for over an hour.
The air traffic controller was pretty frazzled, but everyone did a good job.
With this year’s experience, SWRFI next year is going to be a great fly-in.
The April 2003 meeting
was Sunday 13 April, 3:00 pm. We flew or drove to 4TA0 Massimiliano
Memorial (Prairie Aire) for a look at Jim Sury's 2nd plans-built
airplane, a Turner T40, in progress. Click here for pictures. It was a good day for flying and excellent hamburgers by Glenn Erdelt. We had 13 members and 5 guests!
The March 2003 meeting was cancelled.
The February 2003 meeting was at Lackey Aviation (94R), February 8th. We looked at Steven Lackey’s Lancair IV P and had great taco soup…thanks Tommy, Steven, and Edna.
The January 2003 meeting was at the Wharton airport FBO to eat Carl Eldridge’s chili and then talk about where to go and what to do as a Chapter in 2003. We set tentative expeditions for each month of 2003.
The December 2002 meeting was our Annual Christmas Party on Thursday, December 12th. We reserved a room at Hinze Bar-B-Q on Hwy 59 in Wharton. Chapter Officers were elected. Our new president is Glenn Erdelt.

The September 2002 meeting was held Sunday September 22nd at Robbie’s Under-the-Wire Fly-In. [Great Fly-In]
The August 2002 meeting was held at Dale Atchetee’s. Dale has his Rans S-7 finished from the panel back. It will be flying soon! [It is flying now]
The July 2002 meeting was at Carl Eldridge’s home in El Campo to admire (critique?) the work Glenn, Richard, and Carl have done on their RV-7. [Work continues, at a fast pace.]
The June 2002 meeting was a fly-out / drive-out fishing
